The Wanderers Car Club of New Jersey was started in 1988 by Michael Cecchini. It was agreed to by the founding members that the club would exist without formal organization. To this day, we have no president or officials of any kind. The only rule is, there are no rules!! We have one meeting a year in early spring to plan the year's activities. At this time we ask all members for a renewal of their membership with a donation of $25.00 to cover the costs of our monthly newsletter as well as cards and flowers that we send throughout the year to members for special occasions (births, deaths, illness, etc). We publish and mail out a monthly newsletter to keep members informed of upcoming events and what's going on with everyone in the club. Of course, our biggest pride and joy's are our old cars, and we do have some beauties. At car shows (we attend as many as we can), we ALWAYS take home a few trophies. Many of our cars have been resurrected from empty, rusting hulks to like new condition. These cars represent our past, and we believe that this history should be preserved. They just don't make cars like these anymore.

We are a very family-oriented club. We mail out over 300 newsletters every month to current members, and every month we add new members. Our main objective is to have fun, and we have been very successful at doing so.
Our regular activities include Friday and Saturday cruises. Saturday is our official Wanderers Cruise-In night at The Chatterbox Drive In on Ross's Corner (the intersection of Route 15 and Route 206) where we host many visiting car clubs. We usually end up at The Chatterbox at night no matter where we go. There is also a yearly picnic, Poker Run, Mystery Cruise, Pre-Mother's Day brunch, Sunday cruises, Christmas party (wait there's lots more), and we attend car shows everywhere from New York to Florida. The car shows we attend are both big and small. Join us to find out about lot's more.
We help raise money for charities by displaying our cars at their events. We visit nursing homes and support other cruise nights and car clubs in their activities. We keep no money and donate everything we raise to local charities. We even hold a fundraiser of our own. We park our cars in the Sussex A&;P parking lot & play 50's music and collect groceries from shoppers for the local Help Center, which distributed food to over 100 needy families. It's nice to be able to help others while having fun showing off our cars. What more could you want and what a great feeling! We are a very active club. We live up to our name and don't stay too long in one place. Feel free to join us at any time. We would be happy to see you and answer any questions you might have about the club or our cars. The club is a great hobby because you can meet new people and spend time with the family as well. Welcome to our club.
